I Am Here To Stay	Home at Last The first thing Tahl did when we brought him home was run straight to our bedroom and jumped on the bed near our pillows to lay down. He had never been to our house before, so his was quite amazing. And that was his spot forever.	Tahl and Gusto	Friends Tahl formed a friendship with all our cats. Most notably Gusto. Gusto believed himself the alpha male. He was demand that everyone keep a respectful distance. Over time, Tahl’s calm demeanor overcame this distance. Sowen, who is afraid of her shadow, came to warm up to Tahl. The last few weeks she even braved sleeping on the bed with him. Neko became very close to him when they lived together at Shannon’s apartment. He would wash Tahl’s dirty head on occasion.
Tahl and Neko When Shan moved out, she took Tahl and Neko as they were the most well adjusted cats we had. Since things would be different for them, it seemed the best to take them as they might get along together. And get along they did! They became quite close and Neko would often groom Tahl.	Tahl and Neko	Tongue Even before he had all his teeth removed, he had an odd way about his mouth. His tongue would stick out and he would lick his chops with difficulty after eating. It was never easy for him to clean himself and others. After his teeth were removed, he would lick and rub his face with his paw after eating like he had something stuck in his teeth.	Tongue
Peacemaker	Peacemaker His demeanor set the example. Never was his paw raised in anger.	Out?	Going Out I remember the first day Tahl was introduced to our cat cage on the porch. The other guys zipped by him and out the door and he just turned and looked like he wanted to say, 'huh?' It took him a few minutes, but once it all registered, out he went. He would always pull the screen towards him and then jump through instead of just push through the swinging screen door.
Lap Cat Tahl was our first true lap cat. Many of the othere soon followed his lead.	Lap Cat	Next to Sowen No one sits next to Sowen, except Tahl. She can be frightened by a snowflake, but she occasionally let Tahl sit next to her.	Next to Sowen
Bedtime Ritual	Bedtime Ritual He would demand affection by crawling on books, or sticking his wet nose in your mouth or just continually pushing his head into your hand. He had gotten into the habit of jumping on my chest the moment I lay down on the bet to go to sleep. There he remained until I drifted off, then he would climb down to sleep next to my pillow.	Outside	Outside Before his death I wanted to get him out in the open yard. I try to do this with cats that won’t run away. Unfortunately, both he and Gusto were in no shape to do so at the end as they were too weak to move about.
If I start to cry, I may never stop.
